Đorđe Milosav is a researcher on the SUCCESS project. He previously held a postdoctoral position in Political Behavior at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin after earning a PhD in political science from Trinity College Dublin. His current research focuses on political behavior and comparative politics, employing experimental and causal inference methods in the European context.

Is there a TV-show you are binging now?
I recently discovered Chef’s Table. By now it has 7 “Volumes” and a few special editions focusing on noodles, pizza etc. So these days I watch chefs plate fancy food and nibble on chips to confuse my brain.
Which novel would you recommend for purely entertainment purposes?
I really enjoy books by Olver Sacks, a British neurologist best known as the author of Awakenings, where he wrote about his experience helping patients navigate the world after “waking up” from deep inertia caused by a mystery sleeping sickness called encephalitis lethargica. Sounds like science fiction but it actually happened!
If you are into real science fiction, I would recommend “Neverwhere” by Neil Gaiman. If reading comes a bit harder after reading papers the whole day, every now and then I go back to Dylan Dog, an Italian comic book series following a detective investigating his client’s nightmares.
Where are you best able to think?
Luckily, in the office.
How would you describe your desk?
As bad news for small desk plants.
What is your favorite thing to do to relax?
I really enjoy being around people, doing sports, and cooking. Bonus points if it all happens in that order.
What kind of music are you listening to these days?
At work, I love instrumentals, so I’ll often listen to stuff like Gábor Szabó or Tárrega. To restore balance in the force, my kitchen playlist is often a mix of Disney hits, and when it’s time to exercise, I switch gears to trap and hip-hop.
What will you be researching for the SUCCESS-project?
Together with other members of the SUCCESS team, I will be responsible for the cross-country conjoint experiment in which we are going to look at how gender affects voters evaluations of senior politicians. We are currently also discussing a few additional projects so this answer will probably get an update sooner rather than later.
